November 17, 2006 was a very exciting day for Kristi and I and yet a day with grief as well. Austin and Gerrit came into this world strong and cranky, most importantly breathing room air and ready to tackle the NICU obstacles, tests and procedures. Elija Domingo was stillborn on this day as diagnosed 3 weeks prior on the 29 week ultrasound therefore grief yet again and I'm sure for years to come. Baby Eli will be in our hearts forever and ever and some day brothers Austin and Gerrit will know of their courageous brother Eli who will always be there with them in their times of joy, accomplishments and failures. So today we tackle the life of raising two boys who each day bring joy, laughter and sleeplessness. This blogsite was designed to share with family and friends on OUR FAMILY UPDATES. Your comments, advise and offers to babysit are welcomed.
I first met my wonderful wife Kristi at a 10K run. I ran my best time ever thanks to my attempts at catching up to her. Well I never caught her in the race but did manage to find her after the run and deliver the best pickup line ever, "hi - nice pace". Well, the line didn't work out as well as I had hoped but destiny did bring us back together a month or so later at the kickoff weekend run of a running group training for a marathon. We ran the Chicago 2003 marathon together. Long story short.....three wonderful years of marriage later we find ourselves gearing up for yet another marathon, we are expecting triplet boys. That is OUR STORY for now, stay tuned and follow us through this upcoming marathon of sleepless nights, dirty diapers, burping, puking and well....you current parents know the rest (times three).
You might be wondering, "what is a Dutchican?". A Dutchican is....., well, let me explain. Kristi is 100% Dutch and I as you all know am 100% Mexican, put them together and presto! A DUTCHICAN! And there you have it, Los Dutchicans.

Start saving your pennies-and make friends with a good orthadondist-you’re going to need one(times 2) and reserve your afterschool appointments now-they are impossible to get when the time comes.
