Big Brother Otis

This is Otis standing watch while the boys take their 10am nap.  Otis just loves the boys and surprises us everyday with someting new to prove it.  In the early days Otis was getting a heck of a workout going from room to room when the boys would be seperated for a feed or to calm them from a frequent cry.  To this day Otis will growl when someone startles him by bumping into him or coming to close.  The boys can startle him, pull on his ears or give him a wack on the head and he wont make a peep, instead he will actually wag his tail when the boys give him the slightest bit of attention.

CONSTIPATION: GOOD NEWS/NOT SO GOOD NEWS

GOOD NEWS

Mr. Gerrit’s constipation problem has been solved after 3 weeks of pure terror and I don’t blame the kid.  The switch to Soy made it worse but finally his new (very expensive) Lipil Hyperallergenic formula is working wonders.  I’m sure you all agree that there is no price tag you can put on a HAPPY baby.

A Beautiful Day - Debut Video

A WEEK IN REVIEW (OK, MORE LIKE 18 DAYS)

Once again, sorry for the infrequent posts but still trying to get into a routine with these guys.  First I have to say that we have tried opening our doors for visitors and realized that it’s probably too early yet but hang in there, we can promise that we will be taking visitors before the boys graduation openhouse.  Things are still a bit hectic but both grandparents have been a great help lately giving Kristi and I some much needed R&R.

Health - Uhm, let’s see.  Gas, Constipation, reflux…..push….push….push….ahhhhh…..relief, pretty much sums it up in a sentence.  I will not go into great detail but let me just say that it got so bad that sepositories were needed and I had my hands deep in, well, you know.

Great Grandma Eva made a visit.  Grandma has had that smirk on her face since she was told we were having boys, she swore when she was chasing me around as a boy that I would get mine some day and she is confident that day has finally come.

Finally, although it has been crazy and hectic these guys are just great and Kristi and I feel so lucky to have them.  Their little personalities are so different and beginning to develop.  Take care everyone and please hang in there with me, I will do my best to update more frequently.

Night Out and Brotherly Love

Hello everyone.  Well, we’re still here getting through the sleepless nights as best we can.  We have finally resorted to taking “shifts” here at the house.  We figured there is no sense in trying to sleep between the 2 to 3 hour feedings, usually one of the little dudes is up fussing anyway.

We had a wonderful Christmas here at the Garcia home and hope and pray that each and everyone of you did as well.  I finally was able to convince Kristi to get out for a “night out”, much to the delight of both grandmas who were chomping at the bit to babysit the boys together.  So this past friday Kristi and I went to watch the new Ben Stiller movie Night at the Museum  and had a very nice dinner at The English Inn.  My “Plan” was to then go and have a couple drinks and listen to Charlie Horse at The Exchange downtown but I knew that would be tough to do on our first night out.  We settled for going to the bookstore on the way home and picking up a lullabie cd and a children’s book (wow, our lives HAVE changed!).

So, we took the oppurtunity to take our first family photo since Kristi and I were in descent garb, not the puky t-shirt and sweatpant UNIFORM of late.  The Garcia Family

Lastly, Kristi has been taking suggestions on how to get these guys to sleep at night from friends on her blog Red Dog Knits.  There have been some pretty funny entries, some of which could probably get us into trouble with CPS.  Anyway, one of the suggestions was to swaddle the boys together, you know, make them feel like they were both in the womb together again, comforting, peaceful, so they can sleep.  Well, check this out. (Click on the picture to activate the controller, then click on the play button on the bottom left of the picture to start the video) and, of course you have to have the volume up to really appreciate it

 HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!
